Our House

The Maison des Corporations, listed as a Historic Monument since 2 March 1927

The Maison des Corporations, also called the Maison Brandin.

It is located in the heart of the historic centre of the village, on the corner of rue du Poids Du Roy and place du Marché au Blé.

Built at the end of the 15th century on top of an earlier structure probably dating from the end of the 12th or 13th century.

Saint Crépin & Saint Crépinien

The carvings, carved into the mass of oak posts, are remarkable and represent the emblems of the trades and their patron saints.

The corner post features two craftsmen on either side, surmounted by two angels, one holding a shield and the other a phylactery.

The two figures are Saint Crépin, patron saint of shoemakers, cutting leather on a Gothic altar, and Saint Crépinien, patron saint of sandal-makers, sewing a sandal held by a strap passing under his foot.
